Sleep for 4 hours
According to sleep research, every 90 minutes, our minds experience shallow sleep. That is called one Sleep Cycle.
This indicates that we fall asleep soundly in the middle of this 1.5-hour interval.
It is always advised to awaken during the shallow sleep stage rather than the deep sleep stage.
As a result, you must always sleep for periods of 1.5 hours.
There is a very low likelihood that you may have sleepiness and drowsiness for the remainder of the day after this.

Sleep for 4 hours is not an ideal sleep.
1 Stage of Rapid eye movement (REM) and 3 stages of non-REM make up our sleep, to put it simply. While the latter aids in bodily healing and reconstruction, the former aids in mental consolidation.
You switch between REM and non-REM periods four or five times throughout the night. If you sleep for 6 to 8 hours. But since each cycle lasts only for 90 minutes you may not be able to complete 4 Stages of Sleep, properly.
Most the non-REM sleep occurs faster.
Your pituitary gland releases growth hormones during that time, which help your body heal.
The REM phase of sleep dominates the later stages of sleep.
The latter half of sleep is more crucial for us to stay intellectually aware during the day.
It makes sense why you would be psychologically angry all day if you woke up to an alarm clock after only getting 5 to 6 hours of nights of sleep (lack of REM sleep).
Additionally, if you slept for fewer than five hours, you have a severely compromised immune system, lack of non-REM sleep, and a completely wrecked physical state.
Finally, you need more than an hour of sleep as long-distance runners to heal the harm caused by running. And that deficiency to fill up is necessary to stay healthy.
Sleep for 4 hours cases Health Problems:
1. Imbalanced Chemical Release
Certain hormones that are essential to your health are released or depleted when you sleep.
Set to Release Chemicals in the body:
– Growth hormones, are essential for tissue repair and growth, even in adults.
– Ghrelin, leptin and insulin influence your glucose tolerance and work to balance your metabolism and hunger.
Therefore, having a lack of sleep increases your chance of developing diabetes and obesity.
(which occurs for every fewer than six hours of sleep each night).
– Prolactin, if out of balance, can lead to cravings for carbohydrates, a weaker immune system, and poor focus.
– Aldosterone, controls the levels of sodium and potassium.
Depletion occurs:
– Melatonin, is a sleep-inducing hormone.
– Adenosine, is a harmful metabolite that accumulates throughout the day and is eliminated at night.
2. Heart Health:
While your circadian rhythm—your normal sleep cycle—is disrupted, your blood pressure might rise when you’re awake and fall when you’re asleep. This can result in high blood pressure or even heart attacks and also other health issues.
3. Cancer Problems
Breast, colorectal, and prostate cancer risks are all linked to Sleep Deficiency. The lesser the Sleep quicker the Health issues occurs.
4. Loss of Memory
Memory loss and difficulty processing new information are risks you run when you don’t get enough sleep.
5. Leads to Depression and Anxiety
Lack of sleep significantly raises the likelihood of depression and anxiety, which in turn contributes to greater sleep loss and a negative cycle in wellbeing.
6. Skin suffers from sleep deprivation.
This is because your body is creating more cortisol, a stress hormone that, in excess, can damage the protein that makes skin elastic and smooth.

7. Double your dying speed
The “Whitehall II Study” found that sleeping 4 or 5 hours or fewer per night roughly doubles your chance of dying from any cause.
- Sleep judgment is severely compromised by sleep deprivation.
“Studies show that over time, people who are only getting six hours of sleep, as opposed to seven or eight, start to feel as though they have adapted to this insomnia — they have grown accustomed to it. However, if you look at how they perform on tests of mental alertness and performance, they continue to deteriorate day by day due to lack of sleep.
Thus, when we become unaware of how damaged we are, sleep loss has served its purpose.”
—Dr. Philip Gehrman, CBSM
Sleep for 4 hours, manage it, and be productive.
It’s not easy to stay healthy with less sleep every day. But these are always a solution for any problem, the solution that doesn’t cost you much. Just manage your sleep requirement. Manage to sleep between 7 to 8 hours each day. Don’t worry it should be on average per day. Day Plus Nigh requirement. Sleep for an extra 6 to 8 hours on any day that suits you.
I can witness this since I used to sleep for around three hours every three nights, and although I thought this was normal because I got used to it, it was so awful that I developed microsleep.
Additionally, my depression worsened, I lost all ability to focus, and I began banging my head against walls in an effort to “feel alive.” The more time I spent awake, the less inclined I was to fall asleep since I knew I would wake up exhausted (albeit, thanks to adrenaline, when I don’t sleep, I don’t feel weary).
But this routine was broken up when I slept for 2 hours on the next day, and later changed my sleep timing till 7 hours of sleep, at least.
Final Thought:
Don’t compromise your sleep requirement. Sleep is very important for our mental and physical health. If you want to achieve more by compromising your health with the help of sleep deprivation you are not getting too much benefit. You have to learn how to manage your sleep and stay healthy.
The average person requires 7 to 8 hours of sleep per night. Although it is feasible to sleep in two or more stages, a total of eight hours is still preferred. Lack of sleep can affect your health, cause you to lose focus, be less productive, and make you feel drowsy and angry.
If you have difficulties falling asleep, it’s necessary to try various techniques.
